A Trip to the Beach

There’s almost nothing better than a trip to the beach! Living on the east coast, I’m very lucky to be surrounded by beautiful beaches. The best part is that I’m not a fan of seafood and I don’t know how to swim, oops!

We went to Plum Island in Ipswich, MA which is one of my beaches ever. It’s clean and there’s a ton of space to walk around. We usually go at sunset or bring Winston in the Fall & Spring to avoid the crowds.

This particular sunset was one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen! We only stayed for a bit, but we got to walk around and have some ice cream before making the trek home. It was a 10/10 day!

July 1, 2021

Fun fact that I can’t believe I’ve never shared: I drive a Beetle! A gold 2016 Volkswagen Dune Beetle to be exact. My car is my favorite thing ever and could talk about it for hours and hours. My plan is to be its first and only owner.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found this vintage Beetle tee on depop a few months back. I HAD TO HAVE IT and now it’s my favorite shirt! The fit is perfect and obviously the design too. Feel free to tell me about your dream car or favorite shirt in the comments!

May 10, 2021

It’s been a while since I’ve posted! I have been crazy busy working on my Instagram and need to make an effort to post here more often.

Today is great for a lot of reasons. This morning I hit 3k followers on Instagram AND more importantly, it’s the 3 year anniversary of us adopting Winston! Time has flown but it also feels like we’ve had him forever.

He’s sleeping next to me as I write this and it’s crazy to think how close we’ve gotten in the time we’ve known each other. When we met, I knew he was the dog for us. He was so friendly and cute but it wasn’t until we left the shelter with him that we realized he hated stairs, being picked up, and car rides. Shawn wasn’t with me and I no idea what to do because he physically wouldn’t leave the shelter and get in the car with me! I’m so glad I was able to convince him to come home with me because I’d like to think he’s having a good time. He’s such a love bug and I don’t know what I’d do without him as my little side kick. Happy 3 years to us and Winston!

Our first picture together!

Blue Hair?

Just like the Allstate “parents” commercial, my hair is BLUE and I might not go back anytime soon!

Like many during quarantine, I’ve started doing my own hair. So far I’ve bleached it blonde and cut it myself, and now I’m rocking a bright shade of royal blue!

The process was actually extremely simple and it all started with OverTone serving me an Instagram ad. OverTone is known for depositing hair color into your hair with a conditioner, without all the harmful chemicals. You just put the conditioner on your hair, wait a while, and then wash it out with normal shampoo and conditioner. My hair was left vibrant and super soft! I’m about a month into my color and I’m very happy with the results so far- I would highly recommend!

February 2021 Recap

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted! A lot has happened this month, and it’s been nothing short of exciting!

February has historically been a very laid back month for me, where I usually spend the entire month waiting for the snow to stop and for Spring to arrive. This year, a lot happened for me! We got lots of snow (duh), I celebrated my 5 year anniversary with my work, celebrated Valentine’s Day with the boyf, got a new couch, made my first TikTok video, got my first gift from a company, and I dyed my hair blue!

As are many, I’m very excited for the pandemic to be over so I can do MORE exciting things in months to come. Here’s to hoping that March is just as great and exciting!

Snowy Day Essentials

Can you believe that I’ve lived in New England my entire life and didn’t own a real winter jacket until last year? And it was a gift from Shawn!

Although my parents definitely bundled me up as a kid, I’ve refused to dress warm since high school and that didn’t change until recently. For whatever reason, I felt like it was uncool? I was very wrong. Now, you can’t catch me outside without my North Face puffer, bean boots, scarf, and a Carhartt beanie. Also, who knew that masks kept your face so warm? I’m thinking this is going to be a winter-weather dog-walking essential even after cover is over.

Today, we’re enjoying the snow in warmth! We got about 4 inches yesterday and Winston is loving every second if it.

Blonde Hair

Well, I guess I didn’t make it out of quarantine without doing my own hair…

Just kidding, I’ve been doing my own hair for about a year now! Before quarantine started, I was actually a hair model for an AMAZING hair dresser in Salem. I’ve had every hair color under the sun, from blue to pink to rainbow. When salons shut down, my roots started growing and I had no way to change that. Even after watching countless YouTube videos of Brad Mondo telling me not to, I headed straight to Sally’s Beauty Supply and picked up some powder bleach, developer, and toner and got to it.

The results were just plain okay! Even after toning, my roots were still a bit yellow but instead of bleaching them again, I’ll leave them as-is for now because I have a few changes I’d like to make in the near future. Stay tuned, wink wink.

My Dog, Winston

The funniest, friendliest, and wiggliest dog you will ever meet – my dog Winston.

I don’t think Winston’s tail has ever stopped wagging since we adopted him in May of 2018. Sometimes it even wags in his sleep. Shawn and I had just moved into our apartment together and were searching far and wide for a dog that we could adopt. For a few months, we visited the local shelters every weekend and because we had restrictions on what kind of dog we were allowed to adopt (had to be under 30lbs), our options were extremely limited. After months and months of searching, we finally found Winston and it was love at first sight. It wasn’t until after we paid the adoption fees and left that we found out that he hated stairs, hated being picked up, and hated being in the car, so getting him home was quite an interesting process.

Everything about him is a complete mystery to us – we don’t know how old he is, what day to celebrate his birthday, what kind of breed he is, or ultimately why he ended up in a shelter. We were told that he’s a Corgi-Beagle born around October of 2017, but we’ll never really know for sure. What I do know is that he is very loved and that we are very lucky to have him in our lives. I’ll definitely be posting about him often.
